Looking Ahead: Buffalo Bills

Chan Gailey is looking towards the next and last two games, as everyone else is as well.

Fitzpatrick has stated that “This is a group that’s not going to quit, we understand the situation we are in”.

Gailey has said that Eric Wood may be able to return for this week’s game against Miami and that Arthur Moats will not return this year.  Gailey also went on to say that “The focus is to win.  We’re going to put the players on the field who give us the best chance”.

Now not knowing the context of that last quote would leave some to believe that Gailey is now looking to field the best team possible and has really only been evaluating the players on the field to determine which ones are the best for winning. Although Watching some of the games, it does seem like this is happening.

A prime example would be from last week.  You’re getting blown out and still Fitzpatrick is coming onto the field.  This would have been a great time to bring in Jackson and see what he can do.  Yes, the Bills put out money and years in a contract to Fitz, but when a change is needed then it needs to be done.

Hockey does this for the most part.  When your high salary goalies have let in 4 goals in the first period, yeah, the game is most likely over, but they get pulled to spark the team and the goalie.  This needs to be done to Fitz and maybe his head will get back in the game and he will realize that he is on a short lease at this point.

Drastic measures for drastic times.
