What can be said about a team that underachieves, with a quarterback that plays well enough to sign a 7 year contract and then goes downhill for the past 24 games, stemming from last season. If we were in any other city, it would be bad but not as bad as the Buffalo Bills. Going on their 13th season of non-playoff football, in a city where the support is there every year but is starting to try its patients with everyone including the diehards. I am one of those fans that do anything possible to make sure that I am at least watching the game if not at the game. Week after week you get disappointed with hope and leave with frustration. Questions come about when looking at the offense, defense, coaching and special teams. There is no area that is safe at this point. Yes, if the Bills win out at this point, they have still improved from last year. But with the inconsistencies of this year is it really enough to keep Gailey and his staff around as well as Nix for that matter. Who does Buffalo look at for Quarterback? The draft class is weak and there might be one or two that come into free agency, but at this point who is willing to come to a dysfunctional team. Coaching-wise, who is the best option? You go out a sign the best defensive player on the market and he does make his presence known in the latter half of the year but without support from the rest it was almost a waste of money. Where does this leave the Bills? At best 7-9 at the end of the season. What needs to be done? The Bills need to look closely at Fitzpatrick, Gailey, and Wannstedt. These three have been the center point of the Bills’ insufficiencies this year and changes need to be made.
