Happy Sunday everyone! Of course today is another Bills game day, but unfortunately many won’t be able to see it. That is because the Bills did not sell out this game, making it the first blackout this season.
The lack of tickets sold is not surprising when you look at this week’s opponent. The Jaguars are 2-9 and on route to another high draft pick. The team is having trouble even drawing their own fans. That being said, this should not be a game the Bills think is in the bag.
Jacksonville is coming off a 24-19 victory over the Tennessee Titans, a team that the Bills could not beat earlier this season. They also played Houston very close the week before, losing in overtime. Since Chad Henne has taken the reins from injured starter Blaine Gabbert the Jags have had new life.
The Bills defensivebacks will have to stop Cecil Shorts and Justin Blackmon, who have both put up good numbers as of late. Maurice Jones-Drew is still out with a foot injury, so Rashad Jennings will be starting at running back.
The game will be Mike Mularkey’s first visit back to Buffalo as the head coach of the Jaguars. The former Bills coach talked earlier this week about his time here, saying that he had only good memories of Buffalo.
The Bills are the most part without injuries this week, just a few players that are probable or questionable. The most notable player is Donald Jones, who is questionable with a groin injury.
The game starts at 1:00, and if you live in Buffalo can only be heard on WGR550. Check back here on Buffalowdown for the latest news after the final whistle and follow us @BuffLowDown for in-game opinions.
