Looking Forward: Bills/Jags

Timothy T. Ludwig-US PRESSWIRE

After the game against the Colts, Stevie Johnson stated that more of the play calling should be in Fitzpatrick’s hands more of the time on the field during the game.  This is a shot a head coach Chan Gailey, who is known for his play calling ability.  Johnson went on to say that it made more sense for Fitz to handle the plays on the field based on the situations that they are facing.  Johnson did misstep here taking a shot at Chan and later stated that he misspoke stating that he meant for Fitz to have more ability to audible to other plays.

If this is a reason that is holding the Bills back will the fans ever know.  If Fitzpatrick is limited on the ability to change the play at the line in certain situations, this could be a reason for some of the questionable play calling that the Bills have had in those “are you kidding me” situations.  But then again, it could also be that Fitz is given the ability but is unable to make the correct calls as the more elite quarterbacks of the league are doing.  The question is now posed to you, BLD readers, Do you think more play calling ability should be left in the hands of Fitz or even limit it more?

Fansided and BLD will be putting together Mock Drafts based on where the teams are scheduled to finish.  Make sure you check out what the Bills are looking to do and where they are going to fall.

The BLD Staff has put together a Staff Pick section on the main home page.  Play along with us and see how we all do for the rest of the season.
