The malls are full of people trying to save money on their Christmas gifts while families are sifting through turkey leftovers. Meanwhile the Bills have had 3 extra days to prepare for their match against the Indianapolis Colts thanks to a Thursday Night contest last week. This game is for all the marbles. The winner has a chance for a wild card position, while the loser will have nothing to play for but their jobs.
Player to watch out for: DE Kyle Moore
Colts QB Andrew Luck had trouble last week against a weak Patriots defence, so we’ll see if he has the same troubles against a defence which has been playing well in its last 3 games. One way to get to Luck is to pressure him early and force him into mental mistakes. One way to do this is to get DE Kyle Moore more involved on the defensive line. Yes he is lackluster against the run and yes Chris Kelsay will be back in the lineup, but Moore has been a monster when he’s unleashed to just go after the quarterback. He has only 2 sacks on the year, but he has been relentless in his quarterback pressures forcing the opposing QB to make adjustments on the fly. We’ll see if in his limited time on defence he can make an impact.
What Needs to Happen This Week: WIN
Its very simple what needs to happen this week, the Bills need to win. There is no other option. If the Bills win it does 3 things: It keeps their playoff chances alive, it gives them the conference tiebreaker over the Colts (head-to-head matchups) and it gives Bills fans hope. Hope that this year isn’t over by November, hope that the playoff drought is over and hope that the free agent signings in the off-season were worth it. So, in the words of former Raiders owner Al Davis: “Just Win Baby!”
