For the next couple of segments, I will be looking at possible outcomes for the Bills and what needs to happen for them to make it into the playoffs. The obvious at this point is that they need to win out, if they don’t do this then the hope of making the playoffs is about a 1% chance. Let’s first look at the Jets and see where they stand and what help, if any, the Bills need from them. The Jets remaining schedule looks like this; Rams at 3-5-1, Pats at 6-3, Cardinals at 4-5, Jags at 1-8, the Titans at 4-6, the Chargers at 4-5 and the Bills at 4-6. If the Jets lose to the Rams, Pats, Titans, and the Bills, they will finish at 6-10 and completely out of the race. Even if the Jets beat the Bills and the Bills win out, they will still be 9-7. At 9-7 the Bills have an outside chance and there are a lot of variables that need to happen for the Bills to make it into the 6th seed, but it is doable. It will be interesting to see who wins and loses this week as it could have an impact on the Bills chances. The games to watch would be; Ind/NE, Bal/Pit, SD/Den, and KC/Cin. To help the Bills out they would need NE to be Ind, Baltimore to beat Pit, Den to beat SD and have KC beat Cin. This will leave SD at 5-5, the Bengals would be at 5-5, the Colts would drop to 6-4, and the Steelers would also drop to 6-4.
