With the trade deadline moved back two weeks to week 8 there is still hope for many teams to get
that impact player that could set them apart for the cluster of teams trying to get into the playoffs
this year. With the Bills defense struggling in many areas, is this a place to look to make a move? I
don't think that the personnel is an issue on defense, they addressed a lot in the off-season. The
defense is more an issue of coaching and play calling. Another area of concern is the 30th ranked passing
offense. Does the coaching staff look at making a move with Fitzpatrick, unlikely with the six year
deal signed last year. Although, a hole that could be filled is at WR. With David Nelson going down
early in the season the Bills could definitely use a secondary threat to he out Stevie Johnson. Trade
rumors have already begun and one name that has come up is that of Steve Smith out of Carolina. With
the Panthers struggling this year they might look at getting rid of smith for a second or third round
ick. Buffalo could look at getting a lower draft pick back and look at trading Kirk Morrison, who has
been inactive the entire year so far. If the Bills get smith for a second or third and get rid of
Morrison for a fifth or sixth really you didn't lose too much on the deal and you bring in a receiver
that could help over the middle and open up a hot route for Fitzpatrick.
