Looking Ahead: Bills/Texans Key Matchups

Who will be Tricked and who will be Treated in Houston this coming week?  The Bills have to focus on a couple of Keys and players to have a good chance of coming out of the week with a win.  The top three on offense for the Texans are Johnson, Foster, and Schaub.  The Bills need to counter these threats with Gilmore stepping up and possibly getting help from over the top with Byrd or Wilson.  Foster will need to be shut down from the middle two of Dareus and Kyle Williams as well as Barnett and Sheppard.  Schaub needs to feel the pressure that the D-Line needs to give especially from Mario Williams and Kelsey/Merriman.  This will be a good test for the Defensive Line and Dave Wannstedt to show some much needed improvement.  If the Bills allow Schaub to sit in the pocket and pick apart the zone defense it is going to be a long game for the Bills.  As I have said before, I don’t mind them sitting in a 2 man zone as long as they are rushing the QB with at least 5 or 6 guys.  It has been proven for them this year to be effective and they actually look like a NFL defense.  When they rush 3 and 4 guys and get no pressure they look like a high school football team trying to find their way.  Key one: Keep pressure on Schaub to make the throws he needs to make.  Key Two: Shut Foster Down.  Key Three: Double team Johnson if needed, but keep him in check.
