Bye Week: Bills - Looking Ahead

At the bye week everyone begins to take stock and begin to look ahead at the rest of the season and start the calculating.  Looking at the rest of the season, the Bills see the Dolphins (3-3) twice, the Pats (4-3) once, along with the Texans (6-1), Colts (3-3), Jags (1-5), Rams (3-4), Jets (3-4) and the Seahawks (4-3).  Looking at the rest of the season, I am looking at the Bills splitting the games with the Dolphins and the Jets.  Losing to the Pats and the Texans, and winning against the Jags, Colts, and Rams.  My toss up game is the Seahawks game, but I think that they will pull it off.  Given this the Bills would finish with a 9-7 record.  Is 9-7 good enough to make it into the playoffs.  Looking at the currently standings the Texans are projected at 1 ad the Ravens at 2.  3rd – 6th spots are Pats, Broncos, Chargers, and Dolphins, respectively.  Still in the hunt are the Steelers, Colts, Jets, and Titans with the Bills right behind the Titans.  The Bills at this point control their destiny.  To help their cause the Bills need to sweep the Fins and win against the Colts and Jets.  The only other teams that are ahead of them are the Pats and Texans.  If they can pull a win out of one of these it will really help their chances of making the playoffs.  I think a 10-6 record should make the wildcard spot this year, so a win against either the Texans or Pats is a must for them to make the playoffs.  There is still the possibility for them to even win the East if everything falls into place.
