According to Tim Graham of the Buffalo News Bills defensive end Mario Williams is considering undergoing surgery on his left wrist. According to Williams, The wrist has been bothering him since the last preseason game. He has never once been on the Bills injury report, which lead to the team being fined $20,000 by the league last week.
The team is entering its bye week, allowing Williams to have the surgery sometime this week. The Bills have made no comment regarding the matter.
Williams has 3.5 sacks on the season, no where near the production the team was expecting when they signed him to a 6 year deal that made him the highest paid defensive player in the history of the NFL. How much his play has been affected by this injury is not known.
More Information should be available when Chan Gailey addresses the media later this week. On Wednesday the Bills will be holding their only practice for the bye week, and Gailey is expected to talk to the media following the session.
