This weekend’s match up could be largely affected by the players in the backfield on both teams. Both the Bills and the Titans are working with uncertain quarterbacks and runningbacks that have the talent to really break loose.
From a defensive point of view Tennessee halfback Chris Johnson is a player that will be worrying the Bills coaching scheme. At one point arguably the best runningback in the league, Johnson has started to find his stride again. It should be mentioned that last time these two teams matched up Johnson ran for over 150 yards. Fans have seen the Bills get gashed my much smaller names. Could Johnson be the death of the Bills hopes of victory?
The Bills need to get both C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson back into a rhythm. Spiller hasn’t been the feature back since coming back from injury, which appears to be hurting him. On the other hand, Jackson has looked incredibly slow. For the team to take the pressure off of Fitzpatrick they will need a more balanced attack than they’ve used the past few weeks.
The Bills will be a more successful team if they are a run first attack instead of a team that lives and dies with Ryan Fitzpatrick. Of course this means the team can’t go down early and be fighting to get back into the game. If they get to that point the odds that they leave over .500 are very slim.
