This week on Behind Enemy Lines we talk to Raising Zona editor Scott Allen about the Arizona Cardinals, who have exceeded expectations so far this year. Although the team had many uncertainties coming into the season they have one of the best records in the league through five weeks.
With the injuries at runningback, what is the Cardinals plan to exploit the Bills run defense?
Pass. I imagine it will be all pass. Actually in all seriousness – it will be pass. They’ll try to establish a running game and then once they realize they can’t live with just William Powell and LaRod Stephens-Howling and really should go out and get someone else (by about the end of the first quarter I imagine), it will be Kevin Kolb and pass happy time.
He may not get a ton of credit for the Cardinals success, but how has Kevin Kolb been preforming?
He’s managed the games. At time’s he hold the ball too long, but the knack on him in the past was he wouldn’t take a hit or couldn’t and ran out of the pocket too fast. That hasn’t been the case so far this season. He has made a few mistakes, but none more egregious than any other NFL QB.
What players need to step up if the Cardinals are going to win?
The entire offensive line. It was a joke in St. Louis and at home against Miami two weeks ago.
Where is the mentality of fans a week after the loss to St. Louis?
Fans are great. Not many lost confidence and in reality 4-1 is much more than they would have ever imagined at this point. I don’t think many envisioned the first loss to be to St. Louis, but they are aware Buffalo might be the last best chance to win a game for a month with Minnesota, Monday Night Football against San Francisco at home, and at Green Bay, at Atlanta the next four weeks.
And finally, your prediction for the game this week.
Arizona 27, Buffalo 23
