Looking Ahead: Bills vs Cardinals/Defensive Changes

Mark Anderson is out indefinitely with a knee injury and is going to need surgery.  A time table will be assessed when he is looked at but he should not miss the rest of the season.   The defense this week is looking to take control of the game and dictate the plays to the opponents rather than sit back and react to what is given to them.  Kelvin Sheppard stated in an interview, “It’s one of the things the players and coaches saw on film is that we are letting them catch a ball when we are only a yard or two away from them , maybe to make a break on it and take a chance on making a play…”.  Sheppard also agreed that the Bills need to turn into the dictators and start to take chances.  Look for Arthur Moats to be the second string this week as Nigel Bradham was given starting reps in practice on Wednesday.

The new OL Reggie Wells suited up for practice yesterday and practiced at guard but is not very likely to suit up for the game.  He just has not had enough time in the system, stated by Gailey.  Gailey thinks that Wells will be enough up to speed to play next week.   So looking at the offensive line, Sam Young is the next guy into the hot seat at right guard if Chad Rinehart is not able to go with his calf injury.  Rinehart did not participate in practice on Wednesday.  He should be back on the field today though.  Kyle Williams also did not practice on Wednesday with an ankle injury but is expected to be back Thursday as well.  Jarius Byrd is back and had limited practiced Wednesday along with Eric Wood who had a foot ailment and Aaron Williams.
