After weeks of speculation, Bills free-agent prize Mario Williams has finally chosen a uniform number: #94.

Williams has worn #90 for his entire NFL career as a member of the Houston Texans, but 90 is spoken for in Buffalo with longtime Bill Chris Kelsay donning the number. So Williams had to make a change. He’s not worried about it, though:

“It’s not something I’m going to have to get used to, it’s just a number,” Williams said. “I look at it like it’s a new day, a new chapter in my career, so I’m changing things up a bit.”

DE Kyle Moore (who is still on the roster) was the last Bill to wear #94. Before that, the last Bill to wear #94 was Buffalo’s last actually effective pass rusher: Aaron Schobel. Schobel had a pretty nice carrer in Buffalo – he is second all-time in sacks by a Bill with 78 in his nine-year career. (You shouldn’t need to guess that Bruce Smith tops the list with 171 sacks as a Bill.)

If you are dying to have a Williams jersey to wear (or one to burn in effigy if Williams turns out to be a bust), you can order one here.
