2012 Buffalo Bills Draft: So Many Questions

With the 2012 NFL draft just a mere three days away, all eyes are on our beloved Buffalo Bills. Buffalo has created quite the buzz after a fast start to the 2011 season before injuries sidelined seven starters. Then came the off season; after re signing Stevie Johnson, Buffalo landed the services of one of the best Free Agent pick ups since Reggie White in Mario Williams. If that wasn’t enough to bolster the pass rush Mark Anderson and his ten sack season was signed from the rival Patriots.

Now we have more questions that we will soon get answers to. What will Buddy Nix and Chan Gailey do with the tenth overall pick? With ten picks in their arsenal will they stand pat and let the draft come to them as they have in the past, or will we see movement along the draft board? One of my favorite questions of this years Bills draft is what will be the theme of the Bills draft this year? Under Nix and Gailey the 2010 draft saw not only the Best Player Available philosophy with the selection of C.J. Spiller, but we also saw a theme of small school players chosen by this regime. In 2011 the Bills draft was dominated by defensive players. Seven of the nine players selected by the Bills were defensive player with only Chris Hairston and Johnny White lining up on the offensive side of the ball. The only exception is Michael Jasper while being drafted as a Defensive Tackle has since been moved to Guard. There was also an emphasis on southern school players as North Carolina was the northern most school that a player was selected from.

As much as I love speculating and reading Mock drafts I shy away from doing my own. I do however have a wish list so to speak on some positional targets. I feel as if this team should use multiple picks on Wide Receiver, Offensive Tackle, and Corner. With a good draft and some solid un-drafted free agent signings the 2012 Buffalo Bills could be in a good position to push for a chance to win the AFC East or at least be in contention for a wild card spot. What say you Bills fans, how would you like to see your Buffalo Bills handle this year’s draft? What are your dream scenarios for this years draft?
