Did the Bills Overpay for Mario Williams?

Now that we’re a day away from the euphoria surrounding the Bills’ signing of Mario Williams, it’s time to ask the tough question.

Did the Bills overpay for Williams?

One answer: Of course they overpaid. Did you see his contract? The six-year, $96 million contract is high enough, but when you throw in $50 million in guarantees? That’s unheard of.  This deal better work out, or it’s going to cripple this team for years to come. Only quarterbacks should get money like that.

Another answer: Of course they overpaid…but that’s okay. There’s only one way the Bills bring in a high-level free agent like Super Mario, and that’s by overpaying. Way overpaying.

Or maybe: Not overpaid at all. He’s a one-in-kind talent.

What do you think, Bills fans?
