Dre Kirkpatrick

Alabama CB Dre Kirkpatrick to Bills In First NFLMocks 2012 Mock Draft

Here at BLD, we’re proud members of the Fansided Network, a network of blogs covering all of the major sports. One of the very best blogs on our network is NFL Mocks, which should become your go-to source for NFL Draft information as we get ready for this April’s draft.

Now that underclassmen have officially declared for the draft or decided to stay in school, NFL Mocks editor Jesse Bartolis just released his first 2012 Mock Draft featuring everyone who’s actually going to be in the draft.

And who did the Bills end up with in this simulation?

That would be Alabama CB Dre Kirkpatrick. Read on:

10. Buffalo Bills Dre Kirkpatrick, CB, Alabama Crimson Tide.

Kirkpatrick showed in the National Championship Game why he’ll likely be selected in the top 10. He is just too physically gifted for some players to handle. Kirkparick has terrific size, is an absolutely fantastic tackler, and has enough speed to cover a lot of fast Wide Receivers. Look for the Bills to make the wrong pick here whatever they decide to eventually do (I can say that my wife’s a Bills fan and I live in Rochester).

Ignoring Jesse’s snarky Bills-hating comments, I’d be pretty excited to land Kirkpatrick. Yes, cornerback isn’t exactly a huge need, but Kirkpatrick has more than enough talent to deserve a top-10 nod. And he would give the Bills an excellent young trio of corners in Kirkpatrick, Justin Rogers, and Aaron Williams. (Not to mention the talented-but-frustrating Leodis McKelvin).

Any thoughts on Kirkpatrick? Let us know in the comments.
