The Bills announced today that Sunday’s home game against the Miami Dolphins has not sold out and will not be shown on local television. It’s the second straight home blackout after the Bills opened the season with five straight sellouts.
This announcement isn’t surprising at all, given Buffalo’s current six-game losing streak and fall from playoff contention…but it is a little sad. But if I know Bills fans, we’re total suckers and will pack the stadium for the 2012 home opener, convinced that this could be the year.
The Bills have one home game remaining after Sunday: a Christmas Eve showdown with the Broncos. That game’s nowhere even close to sold out, but who knows? If anyone can pull of a Christmas ticket-selling miracle, it’s probably Tim Tebow.
