According to a report in the Denver Post, the Broncos have apparently put Pro Bowl receiver Brandon Lloyd on the trading block. Denver is reportedly looking to get a third-to-fifth round draft pick for Lloyd, and the team has allegedly already contacted “multiple” teams about the possibility of a trade.
The report also indicates that the Carolina Panthers and Tennessee Titans are among the “three or four” teams interested in Lloyd.
But I have to ask: shouldn’t the Bills be interested?
Lloyd, despite his struggles in Denver this season (although he’s still leading the team with 283 yards receiving), is a big-time receiver. Last season, he led the league with 1,448 yards receiving to go along with 11 touchdowns. Granted, that was a huge jump in production than anything he’d done before, but he can clearly produce at a high level.
Given the Bills’ huge injury mess at receiver right now, wouldn’t Lloyd be worth a shot? Especially if the team could get him for a fifth-round pick. This team desperately needs a deep threat, and maybe Lloyd can be that guy. Plus with a bye week coming up after Sunday’s visit to the Meadowlands to take on the Giants, there’d be time to get him acquainted with the offense before the team’s Week 8 game in Toronto against Washington.
worth a look anyway. I’d certainly take him over Ruvell Martin right now.
