Bills-Lions First Quarter Quick Reaction (Lions 7, Bills 0)

Some quick comments from the first quarter of tonight’s Bills-Lions game…

- Not much to report from the starters. C.J. Spiller had a big 27-yard run early, but other than that the starting offense didn’t do much in its two series. Stevie Johnson dropped what would have been a big gain on the unit’s last play of the night.

- Starting defense gave up a big gain on the first play, as Matthew Stafford hit Calvin Johnson deep for a 39-yard gain. Johnson beat Leodis McKelvin on the play.

- Other than that, the defense looked great. Shawne Merriman is a beast. Let’s hope he stays healthy.

- The second team defense is struggling. Lions RB Jerome Harrison gained 36 yards when rookie LB Chris White took a bad angle on one play.

- Reggie Corner got beat for the Lions’ touchdown. He’s in trouble. He might not make this team.
