Patriots Make Trade For DT Albert Haynesworth

In a move that we all hope comes back to bite them, the Patriots have obtained defensive tackle/malcontent Albert Haynesworth from Washington for the low price of a 2013 fifth-round pick.

Haynesworth is a massive talent – the former NFL Defensive Player of the Year – who is also a massive jerk. Yep, whether he’s refusing to stay in shape or tearing up some guy’s face with his cleats, Haynesworth is an all-around tool.

However, if there’s one place that he’ll get his act together…it’s (unfortunately) the Patriots. Belichick won’t put up with his nonsense, and neither will the other veterans on that team. He’ll either shape up or get shipped out.

I’m a bit sick over this, as it the Patriots seemingly got  a steal here. For virtually nothing, the Pats suddenly have a very dangerous combo at tackle with Haynesworth and Vince Wilfork. That’s a rugged duo in the middle.

Not that there aren’t several ways this could go wrong. New England plays a 3-4 defense, which Haynesworth has a noted distaste for. Also, who knows what nonsense Haynesworth will pull next? I can’t wait for the first time he calls out Tom Brady.

All in all though, not much risk here and a lot of potential reward. Crap.
