Buffalo’s First Three Draft Picks Showing a Distinctive Pattern

Alabama DT Marcell Dareus. Texas CB Aaron Williams. LSU LB Kelvin Sheppard. Buffalo’s first three picks share a lot of similarities. All three were very productive and played a lot of games at big-time programs. All three are physical, athletic defensive players. All three are strong against the run.

This a very positive development. The Bills are so talent-deficient and athletically-deficient on defense right now that it’s nice to see Buddy Nix address this directly through the draft. Hopefully this is the start of a more physical, dominant Buffalo defense.

Or at least one that’s not getting gashed for 4+ yards every freaking first down run.

One big concern still – nothing yet to address Buffalo’s glaring lack of a pass rush. Maybe tomorrow can give us a bit of hope there as well.

In any case, Buffalo’s draft gets an A from me so far.
