Publicly annoyed that he was placed on the season ending injured reserve list over an injury that would have kept him out till week 12, Kawika Mitchell got his wish today and was released from the list and from the Buffalo Bills.
Mitchell injured his foot during a practice a week before the season opener, which Bills officials deemed severe enough to place him on the injured reserve.
The seventh-year linebacker has dealt with a number of injuries the past two seasons, missing 11 games last year with a torn quadricep.
Mitchell appeared in 21 games for the Bills posting 117 tackles, four sacks, a pair of interceptions and two forced fumbles from 2008-2009.
