Jim Kelly Major Reason Why Farve Came Back?

If your like me, you’ve had enough of the soap opera known as Brett Favre. The only time I will care about how Favre is doing is in week 13 when the Bills travel to Minnesota to play the Vikings.

But besides the Vikings sending three players down to Favre’s home in Mississippi to beg the future Hall of Famer to return for one more season, it was our very own Jim Kelly that might have pushed Favre to suit up one last season.

Tim Graham of ESPN reports:

“At the end of his “I’m back” news conference Wednesday afternoon, Brett Favre gave a shoutout to Pro Football Hall of Famer who apparently wants to live vicariously through him.

“I hear some young guys say ‘I want to make it to the Pro Bowl.’ I’ve done that,” Favre said. “I can’t say I never dreamed of being an MVP, but I won three. So can I ask for anything more? I’ve been fortunate to be on a winning Super Bowl team.

“I talk to Jim Kelly all the time. Jim’s a good friend of mine. He’s like, ‘Hey, bro, I went to four. Never won. If you can still do it, do it. And do it for me.’ ”

After hearing this, maybe we now we should root for Favre (after the Bills of course)? Who wouldn’t want someone to win in Jim Kelly’s honor?

No matter all the drama that Favre has bought to the league over the past three seasons, for any athlete to be this successful at his twenty year mark in any league, is a great accomplishment.
