Chan Gailey has recently released the team’s first official depth chart before the first preseason game against the Washington Redskins on Friday, here are some details on it thanks to ESPN’s Tim Graham:
First on offense, no huge surprises when talking about the pecking order of the QB’s: Trent Edwards, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Brian Brohm and Levi Brown.
The most interesting position ranking is found in the wide receivers. Former second round pick, James Hardy is listed as fourth on the depth chart at the one receiver spot behind Steven Johnson, Roscoe Parrish and David Nelson(undrafted rookie).
Behind Lee Evans on the second team is Felton Huggins, followed by the athletic yet often injured Chad Jackson. Although this order is bound to change since Huggins is out indefinitely with a shoulder injured suffered in Monday’s practice.
On defense the Bills find themselves putting two of their recent first round draft picks second in their respective position with Aaron Maybin listed behind FA pick up Reggie Torbor at outside linebacker and Drayton Florence ahead of Leodis McKelvin at right cornerback.
The one position not listed yet if Kick/Punt Returner, I assume this will be a position that can change week to week based on performance. Players bound to take reps in this position are Roscoe Parrish, C.J. Spiller, Fred Jackson and Leodis McKelvin.
The Bills first preseason game is this Friday, August 13th 7:30pm on the NFL Network.
