Two Picks Around Spiller Close to Signing; Could Spiller Be Next?

Some good news was reported today as two unsigned draft picks are close to signing with their respective clubs.

The first player is RB Ryan Matthews who was drafted 12th by the San Diego Chargers. Rumors out of SD indicate that Matthews and the Chargers should be agreeing on a deal before the work week begins.

The second player is Tyson Alualu. This could be the most important of the two draft picks to sign because Alualu was drafted 10th by the Jacksonville Jaguars, one spot behind Spiller. According to the Florida Times-Union, a deal could be agreed upon before the weekend is over.

If these rumors hold true, that means that the pick right before C.J. Spiller (Rolando McClain 5-years, $40 million with the Raiders) and the pick right after will have both signed with their teams, giving Spiller’s agent and the Bills an idea of what the contract for Spiller should pan out to be.

Bills players that have been in contact with Spiller know that he is dying to get on the field.
