Former fifth round pick, Nic Harris was waived late friday after failing the team’s physical. Harris suffered a knee injury in the latter part of the 2009 season which after having surgery, was forced to sit out this past spring’s workouts and mini camp.
Immediately following Harris’ release, the Bills signed inside linebacker Donovan Woods. Woods spent two seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers and was recently released by the Dallas Cowboys.
Harris and Woods have spent most of their time playing in Special Teams, but the one valuable thing Woods brings to the Bills is his experience in the 3-4 defense. At this stage of the game, signing any player with experience in this defense will definitely help other players adapt to this new scheme.
