Ed Wang Under Contract, A First for China

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Ed Wang continues to pave the way for future Chinese football players. As the fifth-round pick for the Buffalo Bills in the 2010 NFL Draft, the 300-plus pound offensive lineman out of Virginia Tech became the first person of full Chinese descent to be an NFL draft choice. Now, a month later, he’s not only the first of the Bills’ picks to sign, but also the first fully Chinese player to be under contract for an NFL team. “Just to get it all out of the way and show that I’m really here to focus on football that was my [...]

Bills Missing Lynch and Schobel at Voluntary Camp

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: None Yet

Marshawn Lynch, RB, and Aaron Schobel, DE, are the only two Buffalo Bills who haven’t been seen during the team’s first week of voluntary activities. Chan Gailey, who held his first practice as Buffalo’s new head coach on Tuesday, said he did not expect Marshawn to be at the voluntary practice. Lynch, whose future role of the team was cast into doubt after he failed to attend the team’s voluntary conditioning program in early April, has been rumored to be looking to leave Buffalo as much as the Bills may be looking to deal him. Schobel’s absence may be attributed [...]

Seattle Happy to Pick Up Buffalo Trash

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Looks like the Seattle Seahawks are happy to pick up the garbage in Buffalo. Yep, they’ve signed former Buffalo flop, J.P. Losman. Someone should ask them if they can do anything about smell around HSBC Arena while they’re at it. According to The AP, the former quarterback for Buffalo has struck a deal with Seattle worth $630,000 for one year. Hey, its okay – the guy’s a champion! Don’t you remember? Losman, only 29, led the Las Vegas Locomotives to the United Football League championship right before being signed by Oakland last year. Or have you forgotten already? If so, [...]

To Trade or Not to Trade

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

The Bills are still claiming that they’re not looking to deal former Cal running back Marshawn Lynch. Nobody else is buying it and neither am I. And I hope I shouldn’t be buying it either – because if its true and Lynch is not going to be traded before the start of the season – the C.J. Spiller pick was even dumber than I first imagined. Look, most people would contend that taking Spiller with the team’s first overall pick was a bit of a “luxury” move. By that, they mean that the team passed on needs at some crucial [...]

Here Today, Brohm Tomorrow?

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

Third-year Bills QB Brian Brohm has certainly been viewed with close scrutiny by new head coach Chan Gailey over the past few days of Rookie camp. With Trent Edwards and Ryan Fitzpatrick both splitting time last year at the quarterback position – and a brand new coach known for developing talent at the position (both mediocre i.e. Kordell Stewart, and stellar i.e. John Elway – there is certainly a whiff of QB controversy on the horizon. “I’ll try to keep my eye on the quarterbacks at all times,” the head coach said, “That’s one of the things that I think’s [...]

Here Come the Rooks

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Mini-camp began in Buffalo on Friday, May 7 as Bills’ rooks tried to avoid uber-pwnage. This camp features all first and second year players for Buffalo as they try to get in shape, get the attention of coaches, and get themselves in a position to make the team come fall. On hand was former Virginia Tech offensive tackle Ed Wang, the Bills’ fifth-round pick, who – if he makes the roster as expected – will become the first full-blooded Chinese player in NFL history. Surprise first-round pick and former Clemson running back C.J. Spiller was also in gear for the [...]
