At 6’3″ and 324 lbs Richie Incognito is anything but what his name might suggest. The 26 year-old offensive lineman joins the Bills after being plucked from waivers; he spent his first five years in the league with the St. Louis Rams.
With recently signed Kendall Simmons out with a shoulder injury, Buffalo made the choice to add a veteran who will likely start this weekend against the Patriots.
“He’s a good football player,” said interim head coach Perry Fewell. “You don’t have an opportunity to get a good football player like that this late in the season. This gives us an opportunity to improve our offensive line and improve our football team we think. So we jumped at that opportunity.”
Incognito, who is known as a fiery player across the NFL, said, “I’m excited for the opportunity … it’s just nice to be appreciated and to be pushed to play better and better each week.”
Incognito was released by the Rams last week following a pair of personal fouls which he attributes to a frustration with losing. It doesn’t sound as though he has made the biggest leap up the food chain to Buffalo, but hell, it really can’t hurt the line’s performance.
