Bills Chief Operating Officer, Russ Brandon, met with former Denver Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan Monday evening and this morning.
This meeting comes only days after the Buffalo Bills were apparently turned down by former Steelers coach Bill Cowher, and less than two weeks following the departure of Dick Jauron.
Brandon, who came well prepared to the meeting according to Shanahan, delivered a persuasive presentation on why coaching the Bills could be an attractive opportunity.
Both sides left the seven hour meeting with the conclusion that they would continue to take things slowly, one step at a time.
“We had an excellent meeting,” Shanahan said Wednesday. “I was really impressed with Russ Brandon and everything he had to say. We’re going to stay in touch and see what develops.”
It is clear that Buffalo is hunting for a big name coach to lead them in 2010 and we’ll just have to see how the dust settles in the coming months.
