Ralph Wilson extended an invitation to former Steelers coach Bill Cowher to lead the Bills in 2010. According to a source at ESPN, Cowher has declined the offer saying that he is happy in his current broadcasting role.
However, Cowher did intimate that he may look into offers once the season concludes. Despite this, he has been very selective in taking interviews in the past; surely with the knowledge that he could coach for any team in the NFL. With this in mind, Buffalo seems an unlikely candidate even if Wilson was willing to pay top dollar. A scenario that is still not altogether certain.
The Bills’ owner has shown a positive aggression in hunting for top-caliber talent to head the team following the unceremonious ousting of Dick Jauron. Mike Shanahan is also been courted for the job; he and Wilson are scheduled to meet this week.
