Bills preseason raises many questions

Terrell Owens might not be ready for the preseason finale against Denver.  Will he be ready for the regular season? How if he is, how long will it last?  Will the Bills poor play detonate the powder keg that is the T.O. locker room explosion?

Trent Edwards is looking and sounding more and more like JP Losman.  Will he play like the star of the UFL – or will we see the Edwards who started last season 4-0?  How long before the organization quits on him and goes another direction?

With Marshawn Lynch suspended for the first four games of the season, Fred Jackson was looking to make his break into the league as the number one guy.  Is his injury going to prevent him from playing a substantial amount of time?  What is going to sideline him?  Can Rhodes and Omon be trusted to carry the ball for the Bills?

Will the organization re-think the thought of having Dick Jauron coach out his remaining two years if he fails to lead the team to a record of anything other than 7-9? So far Jauron, supposedly on the hotseat after last season has shown no promise of change.

So far the only thing the Bills have done right so far was not bringing back Angelo Crowell.  The former Bill and now Bucaneer has had his season ended early again, this time with a torn bicep.

Too many questions, not enough answers.

From what i have seen from the bills preseaon games so far is that we are inconsistant on offense, we have no dominant pass rusher, the no huddle offense is not clicking. It’s going to be another long and disappointing season. I’ve been a bills fan for many many years and I can’t take another season of disaster. Dick Jauron has to go. If he can’t evaluate and get the players to work together than we need someone who can.

TO has already accomplished his goal for the 2009 season. He signed a contract.

Even with his conditioning he’s still in his upper 30s. With that many miles on the drive train contract opportunities become fewer and farther between. And speaking of his conditioning it hasn’t seemed to help much since he’s out with a toe injury. An injury that has basically ended several careers.

Without protection Edwards will suffer the same fate as Bledsoe and Losman. From what I’ve seen so far this preseason you could put Peyton Manning under center for the Bills and he isn’t going to look very good.

Can Rhodes and Omon be trusted? No. There’s a reason why Rhodes has bounced around the league more than Brett Favre and it isn’t retirement.

I still don’t understand why Dick Jauron was brought in. What did he do with the Lions that made the Bills front office say, “WOW. That man will lead us back to the top.” I wouldn’t let Jauron coach a flag football game at the Jauron family reunion.

I had high hopes for this season but its looking like another year of disappointment. And so is the life as a Bills fan.

Thanks for the comments guys. I have to agree with you that it might just be another long and disappointing season. I really think that Jauron would not have been here had it not been for the early season contract extension. I think towards the end of the season Ralph Wilson Jr. really looked hard at seeing how how he could get rid of Jauron without having to pay him his salary. Being stuck with his salary regardless, the organization made a decision to stay with “continuity”.

So here we sit, awaiting another troubling season as a fan. What will really be disappointing is watching the Lions improve while we continue to sit and do nothing.
