Rumors swirled around the speed at which Terrell Owens signed with Buffalo – that we were the only team he had a chance at signing with on a path to rehabilitating his character references in the hopes of landing a deal where he could end his career on a higher note – with one last longer term deal.

All of that was supposedly started with Bills starting quarterback Trent Edwards sending a text message to COO Russ Brandon regarding signing Owens.

With Roger Goodell conditionally reinstating the quarterback who bankrolled a crime many believe is the most heinous, dog fighting.  Vick could be ready for prime time NFL action as early as week 6 – and able to participate in all team functions up to that time.

Could Owens be sending a message to the Buffalo Bills?  Teams in the Big Apple  have publicly stated they are not interested, and I am sure many other teams are not rolling out any sort of welcome to Vick – and as posted earlier on Buffalowdown.com – Edwards is shakily heading into the third year of a four year contract.  Having Vick around might ensure Owens to have a decent quarterback in the wings if Edwards does need some sideline remediation a la the late JP Losman.

Vick might be the final piece to the puzzle for many teams, but at what cost?  And who is willing to take the risk?
