Are the Bills headed for Losman 2.0?
JP Losman had five years to prove himself as a quarterback in the NFL for the Buffalo Bills. As he was heading into the fourth year of that deal, the Bills selected Trent Edwards in the draft. Losman never panned out, and now finds himself as the marquee player for a six team fledgling league (You really have to feel sorry for the UFL).
Trent Edwards is heading into the third year of his four year deal, and so far has not been able to prove himself either. In his first year as top signal caller for the Bills, he started out with a great record, and looked promising as the quarterback of the future here in Buffalo. An injury rattled his composure, and the team fell apart around him, and he finished the year no better than Losman ever did as the starter.
If Trent Edwards fails to accomplish anything this year, the Bills are probably going to draft another quarterback in next years prime time draft, and will probably look to start fresh again at the position after Edwards contract expires.
