The mix between science and religion..sports
Watching a Numb3rs rerun tonight, Dr. Larry Fleinhardt (played by Peter MacNicol) tells his counterpart Alan Eppes (Judd Hirsch) during the show that he has spent his whole life trying to balance his faith with his job in science. He lives in a monastery, meditates daily, yet spends his time at work developing scientific explanations based loosely on Biblical and current events.
It made me think, what is the perfect mix of religion and science, and it dawned on me, its sports.
Who does every professional athlete thank when he wins a championship or award, God is always in there. When the big game is on the line, what does every player do, they join hands and pray.
What does it take to win the game, the right amount of faith and physics. We have found nirvana, and it is sports.
