While watching the top teams draft last night the Bills were busy working the phones – offering out to trade Roscoe Parrish, Chris Kelsay, and the 28th pick in the first round of the draft, in an attempt to solidify getting the selection we wanted. After getting some interest from Tampa Bay, the Bills settled on an offer from Kansas City, sending Roscoe Parrish and the second round pick in the mock draft to Kansas City for Tony Gonzalez and a third round pick. Both teams were very happy with this trade – as the Chiefs were eager to part ways with the tight end, as they do not play a big role in Haley’s system. The Bills are excited after attempts to land Gonzalez last year fizzled out. Buffalo made the decision to move on the trade to add yet another proven veteran weapon to the offense for Trent Edwards to utilize.
Now stop drooling Bills fans, that wasn’t actually true, just a mock up trade in a collaborated live draft spanning the fan sided network. Check it out on the link above. But wouldn’t that definitely be the splash the Bills needed to be considered a contender in the AFC East again? Owens, Evans, Rhodes, Jackson, Edwards, Hardy, Gonzalez – I was cringing at the thought that this group of players could easily compare to those AFC Championship Bills just before that team got hot and made the four in a row run. We can only dream.
As we get near the actual draft, continue to enjoy the mock draft being brought to you by fan sided and mock drafts. We are currently waiting on San Francisco who is on the clock now, the Bills should be selecting shortly, or even during Bills Fan Radio.
