Active off season pleasing to some

I am impressed with the volume of work the Buffalo Bills have put in this summer.  Much of what the Bills have done has been addition by subtraction, getting rid of dead weights like Dockery and Peters, and bringing in the ability to move the ball around more by signing Terrell Owens.

Now, the Owens deal could have been done merely beacuse we were the only team willing to give him a chance, but hey, sometimes thats the way the dice roll.

Usually this time of the year is spent watching other teams in the division change their rosters around and get better as the season approaches.  The Bills have not been idle this off season, and they are poised to potentially have a good draft weekend, as far as past drafts go.

They have multiple first round picks, the ability to move around in the draft as they are shopping guys on the roster.  They have the ability to address the many needs that they have accumulated over ten years of less than mediocracy.  Many fans are getting excited – some are not happy with eliminating pro bowl (alleged) talent.  I, as always remain cautiously optimistic.

The one variable that has remianed the same is the coaching staff that has led us to three straight seasons of 7-9.  Hell, even if we are worse than 7-9 this year because of personnel changes and a bad draft, at least its a step in another direction.  What does doing worse mean?  Drafting higher and a new coaching staff – which for a team set to maybe truly rebuild this franchise – may not be a bad thing.
