Standoff continues, no new news

The Buffalo Bills expect Jason Peters to be a member of the Buffalo Bills this season.  Hell, I would do if I signed a contract with him.  Peters on the other hand, wants more money, so it is unlikely that he is going to be around until close to the beginning of the season again.

With reports now that a draft day deal, or a deal before the draft could be unlikely, it seems the Bills should be preparing for the likely event that Peters is going to be a holdout.  In my opinion, they should let him throw his tantrum and keep him away from football, a spot he would probably be in without the Bills in the first place, as the team signed him as an undrafted free agent.

“Obviously, we talked about this to nauseum, and I’ll talk about it one more time,” Brandon began. “We value Jason greatly as a player. He’s a guy that we signed as a college free agent, as you all know, a player that we developed, a player that we signed to a contract early in his career, and, obviously, Jason, he’s done a great job and played very well.

“At the conclusion of the year we talked to Jason, and we’re in a situation where we value him a great deal. We’d like to have him on this team, and we’ll see where it goes from there.”

The Bills continue to cling to their committment to Jason Peters, something that is probably dogging them in negotiations.  The other variable that is killing the Bills is the relative lack of interest by other teams in the league – only a couple of teams have shown interest, and the Bills may not get what they are asking.
