At 73 years old and with 40 years of covering the sport in one fashion or another, John Madden has retired, and the sands of time have taken away, the voice of football.
Madden reportedly steps down because the timing for it is right.
There is no word yet on who will replace him.
For many this comes as a shock, because depending on your age, there is no other voice of football to recall. Thanks for the memories John, and enjoy your time off, you deserve it.
