There is plenty of speculation surrounding the Buffalo Bills signing Terrell Owens to a one year 6.5 million dollar deal. Were there other offers? Was Buffalo his only choice? Why were the Bills interested in Owens, not their typical type of player?
Many of these questions can be answered by Bills quarterback Trent Edwards. Apparently upon hearing the news of Owens release from Dallas, Edwards sent COO Russ Brandon a text message – “What about TO?”
The thing I like about him, and what I think that lal stems from, is him wanting to win,” Edwards said.
Edwards is not concerned about T.O.’s past, and is focused on winning. Which is why the quarterback came to town a week early to get started on preparing for next season. Edwards thinks that Owens is going to put aside his selfishness, so long as the team is winning. That remains to be seen.
Edwards also thinks that Owens’ personality can help the down trodden team.
“I think he’s [Owens] going to help a lot just in terms of raising our competitive level off the field too.”
