Rumors on the internet have the Bills discussing the idea of trading for or signing G Brian Waters from the Kansas City Chiefs.
On February 27th it was reported that Waters expressed his want to get ouf of KC, and it seems the team is shopping him in an effort to get rid of players who don’t want to perform under the Arrowhead.
Waters has established himself as a upper-echelon lineman, being All-Pro twice and invited to the Pro Bowl three times. During the 2004 NFL season, Waters was selected as the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his play during a game versus the Atlanta Falcons on October 24, 2004. The Chiefs scored an NFL record eight rushing touchdowns during that game. Waters is the only offensive lineman ever to receive this award in either conference.
If the Bills are serious about this, it is a definite step up to shoring the offensive line in front of Edwards, and could be the Bills biggest move this off season. Only time will tell if the Bills are going to be able to land Waters, but his edition could help Coles make his decision. The only way to change the perception of Buffalo is to bring in the names and let the word get out that big players can succeed here.
