Bills vs Chiefs brings excitement to Buffalo

Listening to Buffalo fans after a win is funny.  “greatest game ever” “still alive for the playoffs..”.  The truth of the matter is we beat (impressively) the Kansas City Chiefs.  No offense to Adam and Zach, bloggers over at Arrowhead Addict and the head honchos here on the fan-sided network, but beating the Chiefs is like playing dodgeball, and the Chiefs are the fat kid, targeted and out quickly.

The Bills did show us several things though:

1) We are nothing but an average team.  We have proven we can beat the bad teams, come close to beating the fringe teams, and our outclassed by the better teams.  Which leaves us right in the middle of the pack.

2) Edwards may have his confidence back and his head on straight. The guy ran for two touchdowns, the first time since the 1960s when Jack Kemp did it.

3) The offense can score without the help of special teams.  Except for the McKelvin interception return, most of the points were orchestrated by the offense.

4) Lynch and Jackson are dangerous.  But not inside the five, but thats not really there fault, more the offensive lives fault.

5)Josh Reed is to Trent Edwards as Lee Evans was to JP Losman.  Losman  had the long ball, thats why Evans was his go to man.  There is a connection between Reed and Edwards, and the team needs to focus on it.  Keeping Evans on the long ball is going to help Reed out more.

6) The running game still stinks.  This needs to be fixed or the Bills will not progress in the future.

The Chiefs were not all that bad though, they still managed 31 points, had Thigpen (I always think of PigPen when I hear this guys name) not gotten a case of the Edwards, they may have kept the score closer.

So we got the fat kid out, now we need to be able to get the kid out that hits us in the side of the head when we celebrate.

None taken. And I would make that the fat, blind kid in a wheelchair, Tim. I’m just pissed I switched McNabb for Edwards in fantasy at the last moment. Stupid!
