Bills out power, twice.
The Bills game was blacked out this weekend, for the most part. And not by any silly league rule, but rather by a balloon in the powerlines. What was probably the best Bills game of the year was not seen outside of the stadium. So the BIlls overcame a power outage to ground the Chargers.
I cannot comment too much on the game, because along with the “act of god” blackout, and my daughter’s baptism and party, I did not see any of the game, although I listened to a portion of it. The Bills defense played the way they needed to play, coming up with key turnovers when they needed. The O-line was solid, giving Ewards plenty of time, and keeping the sack count at 0 all day. This was probably the Bills best all around effort since the first week of the season. Then again, I did not watch the whole game, so I do not know if they struggeled at all, like in the weeks they needed 4th quarter heroics to win the game.
I do have one comment to make that did kind of irk me to some extent – with no power in the stadium, how do you give the Buffalo Bills a 5 yard delay of game penalty on the offense? I would have to agree with the announcer at the time, I did not catch who said it, but I believe the words officious prick were used. I could understand if Edwards was taking 40-50 seconds consistently to get a play off, but this was a mere couple of seconds without having a reference point. I can guarantee you with the power on Edwards does not make that mistake.
