Tony Gonzales said he wanted to play for the New York Giants a contender, so the Bills management can hardly be faulted for not being aggressive enough to land the future hall of famer. If you still want to blame the Bills management for not doing enough to make this team a contender, go ahead, the way I see it, is the Bills management is happy with the team they have, and for once they feel that they can win. And they are.
The bar will be set this weekend though. San Diego has been a favorite in the AFC the past few seasons, and their current record of 3-3 is not a real testament to how strong this team actually is. I was listening to WGR on my way home from work today, and Bulldog referred to this game as possibly the toughest game left on the Buffalo schedule. Prior to the season, I think that would have been a fair assumption, hands down. With the surprising play of the Jets and Brett Favre, and the super surprising Miami Dolphins, San Diego may not be toughest game anymore. I do think the Bills can prove a lot by going out and winning this one. The players want to win. The fans are going to be loud, being the team hasn’t been home in over a month. I would wish for a freak cold and snow storm, but today’s Bills are not yesterday’s Bills, and the weather is not as favorable as it once was.
I’m still out to lunch on this one. If the Bills defense from the first four weeks shows up, then the Bills should have a good to go game on Sunday, giving the amount of time off, the only thing preventing this from happening is injuries. Once Jauron releases his injury report, I can take a closer look at whose playing and really make a good prediction as to the outcome of the game. All I can say is that Edwards brain is just as valuable as his arm, and the defense needs to protect this kid until we can see for sure that he is really back to game shape.
