Weathering the Perfect Storm
Where has September gone? Time sure flies when your football team is winning. I have been hearing a lot of praise for the Bills, but at the same time I am also hearing a lot of, well look who they have played. I do not think it matters a teams schedule – they don’t get to pick the schedule, so they shouldn’t be faulted on it.
I think the Bills are just taking advantages of opportunities. The perfect storm is brewing for the Bills to take the reins in the East, and the AFC, and come out smelling like roses. The Bills are ahead of their prime, they are maturing faster and winning faster than expected, and should be great for years to come. The Cardinals have some injury problems, and yes it is a West Coast game, but I think as long as the defense can keep them in the game early, when Trent Edwards and the offense wake up in the second half, the game could be won. Nothing is easy.
A first glance at the schedule had me worried about San Diego. I still do. They are a few plays away from being 4-0 themselves. But they are coming into our house, as the weather starts to turn for the worse. The game doesn’t look so menacing.
If the Bills can manage a win against the Cards this upcoming Sunday, they only have to play .500 football for the rest of year, and will make the playoffs at 11-5. The Bills have stood in the face of adversity, weathered the storm, and come out on top.
