I am not one to argue with the mundane rules of the league, but if there is ever one rule that I would like to have abolished from the face of the earth (or at least from the NFL) is the deferring to the second half.
I have not heard of it working in favor of a team that has done it all year. I think coaches who select this option are over thinking the game.
Jauron’s only reason for not deferring in the first home game was because he felt it important to get the ball into his teams hands right away. Wouldn’t you want that to be important every game?
