I know the judge has warned the jury not to think about the trial of the century when they hear the case against the former Bills star, but is anyone really listening, or are people going to use these new charges to put “The Juice” behind bars?
As impartial as you hope a jury of your peers might be….is it really going to be the case? And it also makes me wonder, has the city of Bufalo washed it;s collective hands against the former running hack? I for one have, and I think many poeple have but tried to distance themselves from him, well in so much of the respect that fans can. You never say him around with the team in trouble of moving to Toronto (granted, any money he made would have to go to the civil lawsuit that he still owes on). It should be interesting to see where this all ends, and how the Bills handle it. If convicted this time, I would not seeing his name come off the wall.
I understand that his accomplishments on the field happened befroe his criminal problems, but is that the image that we want future Bills fans to see? Do future Bills fans care? I for one do not want to have to explain to my kids that “Simpson” was a guy who used to play for the Bills but is now in jail for kidnapping and he was once accused of killing his ex-wife. Sorry JUIce, but if convicted, if it were up to me, the name comes off just as easily as it went up.
