Tim Graham (ESPN NFL BLOGGER) says Injury may help Peters.
Tim Graham commented on the injury to Walker on his blog stating
Jason Peters‘ stock might have just skyrocketed.
The Buffalo Bills left tackle is holding out for more money, and his replacement has suffered an apparent left arm injury in tonight’s preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts.
The arm injury is not even all that serious according to Bills staff and Coach Jauron.
Jason Peters, make sure your cell battery is charged up. Jauron’s words probably sounded like a cash register opening to the Pro Bowl left tackle, who’s holding out for more money.
Buffalo’s best tackle options on the roster are Kirk Chambers (one career start) and seventh-round draft pick Demetrius Bell. Chambers has been the first-team right tackle since Walker was switched to the left side.
The Bill have stated time and time again they will not pay Peters. He is under contract and they expect(ed) him to be at camp and be ready for the season. It is unlikely that an injury will force the Bills hand and mean a huge payday for Peters. I think they are more likely to turn to the free agency market to fill the need rather than negotiate with a player they have yet to have contract talks with. Peters needs to grow up. You have a contract honor it.
