Bills need certain names to keep playing like they did in Toronto
Until the season starts, your going to see me say “granted its only preseason” about a million times, so we will start with that, granted its only preseason but,
Shaking off a sluggish performance in the Bills’ preseason opener last week, Edwards was near-perfect in two series, going 9-for-11 for 104 yards and two touchdowns, in Buffalo’s 24-21 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night.
If Edwards can command the offense the way he did in the first two possessions on a regular basis, the offense will be in good shape this season. While there were minor hiccups, Edwards looked great, and the passes were crisp, on target, and thrown with deadly precision (how about the pass to Royal for the first touchdown - fearless Edwards threw through triple coverage).
Keep Losman on the sidelines as much as possible. I liked Jauron’s and the coaching staff’s decision to play the first team offense for two full possessions before replacing them. Maybe he was testing them to see if the first scoring drive was a fluke - must not have been because they converted on their second drive as well.
One of the things that went wrong last season was the lack of offensive touchdowns (last year they had 20, lowest in the league). If the offense keeps clicking like this, Edwards needling passes and Lynch blasting his way on the ground - we should easily see that number rise.
The Bills sealed the win when rookie first-round draft pick Leodis McKelvin scored on an electric 95-yard kickoff return immediately after Pittsburgh cut it to 17-14 on Rashard Mendenhall’s 6-yard run
Leodis McKelvin will become a hero in Buffalo if he can continue to return kickoffs and punts the way he did against Pittsburgh and in college (he had 7 returned punts). Bills haven’t really had a threat back there since the Super Bowl Team era. This is one rookie the Bills need to keep.
So offense and special teams look promising as the season inches closer and closer. One thing that does need to be shored up before the start of the season is the defense. If it were not for McKelvin’s return, the Bills would have faced another defeat. If the status quo remains, a solid offense with a stalled defense, you can bet on losing the close games again, which under Jauron would be no surprise to Bills fans.

Leodis McKelvin is an exciting player that will help the Bills special teams immensely this year. I can’t get over how he turned on the jets and blew past the Steelers last night.
Check me out when you get a chance

I think the Bills 1st team looked great on Thursday night. I thought the playcalling and execution were great. Roethlisberger didn’t even score his touchdown until the 2nd team defense was in. As much as I thought they played well, though, I feel they have a lot to overcome to become an elite team in the AFC. And I don’t think they will make the playoffs. It was a nice outing though.
