A Tough Task

The Buffalo Bills will take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in just over 15 hours.  The game looks on paper to be a mismatch and quite honestly I’ve had trouble getting into the game.  The heartbreaking loss last week, coupled with the tragic injury to reserve tight end Kevin Everett have made it difficult to focus.  If you add into the situation the injuries suffered by the Bills defense and it appears that it would take a minor miracle for the Bills to pull off a victory.

The key to a Bills victory is going to be much different than last week.  The Steelers will be able to score points on the Bills makeshift defense so the offensive game plan is going to need to be more wide open.  I anticipate the Bills will continue to use the running game but I also expect them to try to stretch the field a little bit as well.  The key to the game will be whether or not J.P. Losman and Lee Evans can connect.  The Bills will probably need to score 27 or more points to win this game and that is not out of the question.

The key for the defense will be to contain Willie Parker and forcing Ben Roethlisberger to beat you.  If the Bills can stop Parker from scoring they will have an opportunity to at least keep the game close.  It will be key for the Bills to win the turnover battle every single week to stay in games because they are not talented enough to give things away for free.

Check back tomorrow for a more complete prediction and break down of the game.  I may also have a big announcement either tonight or tomorrow.  The only hint I’ll give you is that listening to Vic Carucci on the post game show is about as fun as sticking a needle in your eye, actually the needle in the eye is less painful.
